About Blackwall Labs

We started with the part everyone else skips.

Most AI companies start with a demo. We started with the question every security review eventually asks: what happens when this is wrong? Our framework is the answer we wished existed before we started deploying agents for real companies.

Why "Blackwall"

A wall isn't there to keep everything out. It's there to control what gets through.

The first agent deployments we built, before this was a product, all had the same failure mode: they worked in the demo, then stalled the moment they hit a real security review. Standing credentials. No approval path. No log anyone could hand to an auditor.

We stopped building agents first and started building the wall first. Identity, governance, and audit are the foundation — the automation sits on top of that, not alongside it. — How we still build every deployment today

What we believe

The principles behind every product decision

Access is a design decision, not a default

Every permission an agent has should be one someone deliberately granted — never one it inherited by accident from a broad API key.

Automation earns trust in stages

An agent shouldn't get full autonomy on day one. Scope should expand as the audit trail proves it's ready — not on a vendor's rollout timeline.

If you can't explain a decision, don't automate it yet

Every action an agent takes should be traceable back to a policy and a reason. Opaque automation isn't leverage — it's risk with a head start.

People stay in the loop where it counts

The goal isn't removing humans from decisions. It's freeing them from the repetitive parts so their judgment goes toward the parts that need it.

The team

Builders of unglamorous infrastructure, first

Blackwall Labs is a small team of engineers and operators who spent our earlier careers building the access control, workflow, and audit systems that businesses depend on and rarely think about — long before "AI agent" was a category. We came to agent deployment already believing that governance isn't the thing that slows automation down. It's the thing that gets it approved.

Working with us today

We're an early-stage, founder-led team. That means direct access to the people building the platform on every engagement — not a rotating account team.
